When photographer Quinn Miller volunteered to shoot wedding photos for his friends James Lowder and Katie Young, he had an idea for a hilarious addition to their wedding album.

Inspired by a photo he’d seen online a few weeks earlier, he suggested that the bridal party pose for a joke shot where they looked like they were running away from something.

The couple loved the idea, and Miller added a Photoshopped T-Rex into the picture to make it look like the bridal party was escaping from a dinosaur.

After the wedding, Miller posted the pic on his photography business’s Facebook page. Since then, it’s been shared over 4,000 times — and rising — and crowned "the best wedding photo ever" by numerous websites, something Miller calls “the definition of viral.”

"So, things got a little crazy at my friend's wedding," a poster wrote on Reddit alongside the photo, which quickly skyrocketed in popularity.

For Miller, who graduates from LSU next semester with a degree in digital art, the whole thing has been a whirlwind.

“I don’t even promote myself as a wedding photographer,” he admits, adding that he only found out about the online popularity of his photo through a friend who kept forwarding him links to different outlets that had written about it. “Everyone freaked out when it was on the homepage of Reddit, and I have never used that site in my life.”

Miller and Lowder are close friends who met in college after Lowder was one of the students chosen to wear the costume of LSU’s mascot, Mike the Tiger. Miller got to watch as Lowder and Young met, fell in love, and got engaged.

Their wedding, which took place at The Myrtles Plantation in St. Francisville, Louisiana, was an otherwise traditional Southern affair, with bridesmaids in blue dresses and groomsmen in bow ties and suspenders.

Other than the dinosaur, their wedding was fairly traditional.

Although Miller has gotten phone calls and emails from friends and acquaintances almost nonstop since his photo went viral, there’s one very important person he hasn’t heard from: James Lowder.

Lowder and Young are currently on their honeymoon without any phone or internet access, so they have no idea that their wedding photo has been splashed all over the internet.

Their families have been following the photo’s trail, though, and look forward to giving the couple the full update when they return home to Louisiana.

“I know for a fact that James would be extremely excited,” Miller says. “He loves dinosaurs, they’re a fun and laid-back couple.”
